GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
June 17, 2025
Our speaker for the June 17, 2025 General Membership Meeting will be Lance Tahmahkera, great, great grandson of Comanche Chief Quanah Parker. With his parents staying close to the Comanche traditions and culture, much of his youth was spent at pow-wows learning family stories about ancestors and the tribal ways. Lance will be sharing those stories at our upcoming meeting.

Romeo
The 26th of May was “memorialized” with a great breakfast at the Hulen Dixie House Café by twenty-five (25) ROMEOs (20-Guys and 5-Dolls). In the midst of great cheer and conversation, we welcomed the summer together as we remembered our service members who made the ultimate sacrifice and will always be in uniform for us. We celebrated a double birthday (1 May) for Joe “Beansy” Herness and Guy Kerrick. We continued applauding for Guy and his wife as they celebrated their 42nd Wedding Anniversary on May 21st.
Before ending the breakfast with our last sip of coffee, we had an open conversation about our next General Meeting on June 17th . At this event, we will have a presentation on Quanah Parker by Lance Tahmahkera, his great-grandson. This is the third time that Lance will be presenting to us, so it sounds like one not to miss (I even found out that there maybe a ROMEO or two who is related to Quanah Parker) So if you cannot join us at the General Meeting, please come enjoy our next breakfast on the last Monday of the month, June 30th at the Dixie House Cafe ( 5401 S Hulen St Fort Worth, TX 76132).
Hope to see you.

General Meeting
November Meeting

At the April meeting, Downtown Ernest Brown brought in a special guest speaker, Mr. Bill Wait, who gave a fascinating presentation on women in aviation. We all learned something new and enjoyed the event.
At our June Meeting:
After surviving the first 100 degree day of 2024 there were 21 individuals (18 men and 3 women) who joined together at Dixie House on South Hulen for the first retiree breakfast of the summer. For those who were fortunate enough to attend the breakfast, the morning greeted us with temperatures in the 70s and wide open roads with school out. We celebrated Jim Sager who has been married for 65 years as of June 20 and Kathy Simpson who made the wise decision to move to Texas 60 years ago. Our next meeting is on Monday, July 29 at 8am at Dixie House on South Hulen in Ft. Worth. Best of all Ed Neel will be back from his European River cruise vacation and will regale all with tales of his adventures. We hope you can make it!
